Racism is generally seen as a social problem: problem created within society itself (instead of being bio-genic, defined as problematic defined by sections of society, negative impact on certain parts of society. It is a socially constructed problem, theoretically should be able to be deconstructed by society. Chapter 10 contesting racism: origins, causes, continuities, costs, consequences. Causes = micro; immediate reasons that trigger racism. Acknowledge that there is a human history; developing a group inclusiveness and having suspiciousness and excluding others. Maybe there is a bit of racism in all of us subliminal racism.
