Sender encodes message through word choice and format. Text, face to face, email, skype, video conference, phone call, forum, posting etc. Receiver decodes message, word interpretation, display format, etc. Feedback receiver letting sender know whether they were able to receive the message or not (ex. Self concept: a person"s subjective description of who the person thinks he or she is. Four main sources: interactions with others, association with groups, roles we assume, our own labels. Self awareness: current state, knowing strength and weaknesses, knowing what you are passionate about, knowing what motivates you, knowing what sets you off, understanding why you react a certain way or make certain choices. Subjective self awareness ability to separate self from surroundings. Objective self-awareness ability to think about our own thoughts as we are thinking them. Symbolic self-awareness encoding the message, choosing the correct words in order to manage another person perceives you.
