Document Summary

Anth: weird discipline with a mixed combination of different scholarly realms, understanding of the world, what we can do with the world. Provide medical care for the poor, gain understanding. What makes us different: what we have done with culture, human have taken something shared by other animals and turned culture into a secondary part of human existence. Took over the most important part of human existence (communicate, pass on knowledge to future generations, production of different things around the world). Culture is so embracing, reality which is broad and complex. Immense creativity in human existence in the last 200,000 years in terms of human creations. We do not think about or reflect on culture, everything we do reflects on knowledge of culture, taken for granted and is natural to us. As we encounter people different from us (different values, language etc. ) we have different reactions towards them.
