Document Summary

Has to occur in the embryo before it has the ability to implant; if it occurs too late the embryo will go through the uterus while sill in morula stage and implantaion wont occur. Ferilizaion has to occur within 24 hours of ovulaion, and 48-72 hours ater ejaculaion. Implantaion has to occur 6-8 days ater ovulaion or the corpus luteum will die of. Ferilizaion of the egg is referred to as concepions. The growth development period is referred to as gestaion period. The embryo has to reach the blastocyst stage by the ime it gets to the uterus for implantaion. The embryo has to express proteins for implantaion. Day 0: ferilizaion, meioic divisions of cells (daughter cells), occurs fast. Day 1: first cleavage division, 2 cell stage from release of calcium. Day 4 - 5: advanced morula (150 cells in that area) No real development of cells or specializaions; just an increase in numbers.
