When the director makes more films he may develop a connection of how things work in that film. Some stylistic tends include frames or shots that a director tends to use over and over again in films he makes. Trends and patterns are key to ones understanding of a filmmaker as an author. When the films of a director tend to catch on a similar theme in their films.
