Puts down roots and then a plant grows from the stem: corms: are short, thickened vertical underground stems fro which plants can regenerate, bulbs: are specialized buds with thickened fleshy modified leaved, tubers, apomixis, the production of seed without fertilization, basically cloning its self, seeds have the advantage of being animal disperse in fruit but only a single plant is needed to reproduce.
