Social cognition = studying cognitive processes in a social setting. Eye-tracking = camera tracks your eye movement so it knows what you"re looking at. Heat map shows where you look at the most. Blue dots represent where gaze was fixated on. ^ shows that there"s a really strong tendency to look at the eyes. Can test your ability to recognize a face by removing certain parts of the face. If the eyes are the most important part of the face, if they"re what helps you determine the most info, removing the eyes causes you take significantly longer to recognize the face. We can"t help but look at the eyes. When we make eye contact w/ someone, we"re expecting something to happen. Why we don"t like making eye contact w/ strangers uncomfortable to something else and recognize the face. The white stuff is what makes it very clear where humans are looking. Evolution we can see where you"re looking.
