Childhood gender nonconformity plays a pivotal role in homosexuality. Nonconforming children feel different and estranged from their peers and perceive their same sex peers as unfamiliar and exotic. (cid:272)hildre(cid:374)"s se(cid:374)se of (cid:271)ei(cid:374)g differe(cid:374)t from their same-sex peers, possibly being the subject of teasing or ridicule, arouses their autonomic nervous system later in life this arousal is transformed into attraction for same sex peers. Sex hormones called androgens influence whether the brain sets the child on a path toward more masculine than feminine characteristics or vice versa. Having older brothers increases the odds of male homosexuality. Also talk about handedness: homosexuals are 1. 5x more likely to be left-handed (male, homosexuals are 2x more likely to be left-handed (female) We should bear in mind that both brain size and brain activity could be a consequence, rather than a cause of sexual orientation.
