Document Summary

Idea: emotions are somehow compromising to our judgement (i. e. irrational) When you disrupt emotions, you also disrupt judgement and decision making. It"s a change especially on how your mental states shape behaviour. Spock won"t be able to choose his socks in the morning. It is a critical process in understanding the value of things. If something has no value/doesn"t matter, we won"t feel emotional about them: so, emotions help us understand how we feel about certain stimuli and thus shape out behaviour. If you are disrupting emotion you also disrupt understanding of value, and resulting in a disruption in judgement. Those with damages in their brain related to areas of emotion have major complications with trying to navigate their world successfully. Old idea: lateralization: the idea that you"re either left brained or right brained (neither dummy you have both sides) Right hemisphere model: right hemisphere is specialized for the processing of emotions (handles the major emotional perception/responses)
