Children from different cultures react to the strange situation. From n. america, it is probably pretty normal. From asian culture, it is not normal. It is normal for parents to stay with babies all the time, especially when they are pretty young. Non -caucasian children receive more decent outcomes from authoritarian style. Chinese parents are mostly authoritarian and children have the best outcome. Authoritative parenting is not associated with good academic outcome. Parents goal is to control, monitor, guide, shape, governor their children. They want the children to become diligent, study- orientated, emphasize values of hard work, self- discipline, achievement, honor, obedience. Guan = high level of governor, parents involvement,care, and love. Goal is to bring the family"s honour. Does parents from different culture have different style.
