Document Summary
Things that are able to influence us. Sociology is the study of the obvious. Society is constructed: society is created through our use of symbols, traditions and rituals, order is necessary. We use language and behavior to create these symbols traditions and rituals: verbal and non-verbal. Through this creation and actions, we give meaning to these symbols traditions and rituals. **once this is done, we have the basis for various belief systems norms and values. The more we respect these beliefs systems, norms or values, the more permanent they become in society. Traditions bring about order to society and a regular pattern to our lives. These patterns of behaviour are what sociologists call social forces or social structures. Patterns of social relations that are beyond our daily associations and lives. Macro sociologists: study about 80-85% gender, family, ethics, government. Behaviour in the role to keep social structure alive. Micro structures patterns of intimate social relations that we engage daily.
