Stigmas act to encourage assimilation towards behaviour of dominant e. g. negative stigmas italian/ukrainian last names. Under communication deliberate choice to downplay one"s identity b/c it"s stigmatised. Pick up/use if you want to e. g. someone of scottish descent in canada.
