Document Summary

Brought two different samples together --> developing and developed nations, how different they are to each other. Critical outlook on what is considered a home and what could be considered a home. They had different orientations on how people experienced the home. Houselessness: without shelter (no physical home), sleeping rough, being placed in institutional shelters. Inadequate shelter: when shelter is still affected by external factors (e. g. lack of physical shelter) Concealed houselessness: people that are not obviously houseless, i. e. they may be couch surfing between relatives, sleeping in their vehicles. At-risk of houselessness: people who are on the edge, one rent payment away from being evicted, extremely close in ending up within these poor shelters. Homelessness: placed character of activities of everyday life (when people bind themselves to everyday living, people feeling like they know who they are and their identity) Wishes to achieve a goal of inclusion --> i. e. gaining citizenship and legal status.
