An official narrative exists in both democracies and dictatorships: use propaganda to reinforce the status quo. Democracy is a historical anomaly which helps to explain why elitism and hierarchical control prevail so(cid:272)ieties a(cid:396)e (cid:272)o(cid:373)ple(cid:454) a(cid:374)d (cid:396)e(cid:395)ui(cid:396)e a (cid:858)fi(cid:396)(cid:373) ha(cid:374)d to guide the(cid:373)(cid:859) ho(cid:449)e(cid:448)e(cid:396) . The leaders then abuse this power with a system of propaganda and fear-mongering. They can also inculcate (promote) a reductivist understanding of what constitutes genuine freedom. Hence control and population (perception) management can be argued to differ in degrees only i. e. all political systems are systems of suppression in one form or another. What is the alternative to american leadership: chinese communism! Unconditional power can only endure if legitimated willing collaborators: poses that this is what modern democracies are turning in to, paul ryan ;) Ha(cid:396)pe(cid:396) a(cid:374)d bush as li(cid:448)i(cid:374)g (cid:858)so(cid:448)e(cid:396)eig(cid:374) (cid:396)ep(cid:396)ese(cid:374)tati(cid:448)es(cid:859): executive predominance as the norm in democratic politics, contempt for parliament/congress.
