Esophagus ends with just a blunt end, no connection to the trachea, and no connection to the lower esophagus and thus the stomach. Baby not able to get food in the stomach, malnourishment. Food is aspirated into respiratory tract and/or vomited. Fistula has formed between esophagus and trachea. Food enters the trachea and the lungs. Fistula connects with distal part of esophagus ot the trachea. Child is not able to get food in stomach, aspirting or vomiting food. Air enters the stomach acid from the stomach could enter into the tracheal region. Connection to the trachea as well as to the stomach. E esophagus formed properly but fistula is created (higher chance of acid and air entering the stomach) D esophagus took a detour to the trachea and then back to the stomach.
