This article is a comprehensive review of studies in diabetes that specifically aimed to reduce symptoms of depression, and examines evidence for additional effects on diabetes-related outcomes. Sampling method: the researchers investigated studies with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, included adults, children and adolescents. Depressive symptoms and or a diagnosis of depression included a psychosocial and or pharmacological intervention. The authors evaluated studies based on methodological characteristics of study design which included comparison group, follow-up interval, analyses and inclusion criteria such as age, diabetes type and depression severity. Data collection: data was collected through structure interviews, which focused on the i(cid:374)dividual"s per(cid:272)eptio(cid:374) of his or her sy(cid:373)pto(cid:373)s relati(cid:374)g to dia(cid:271)etes a(cid:374)d depressio(cid:374). Data analysis: constant comparison was used to analyze the data. The study used rcts to see how depressive symptoms affect individuals suffering diabetes.
