People get pins and other symbols of their awards to show their standings of where they are in society. Then community commitment is factored in to one"s resum . Schools ask alumni to donate in many different ways. Some of which include: 1 week a year of their salary, insurance schemes where the users get tax receipts for their premiums, and then when they die the university gets a large payout. The money goes into a trust, not a revenue box, this is so that the government won"t take it, its not as taxable. The oratoire in mtl for example (church and tourist destination) raises 150million in an invest for the future fund for their development.
