Hypothesis on the origin of life: no matter can be created or destroyed, all that exists is the result of transformations. Life occurs spontaneously by transforming appropriate ingredients: spontaneous generation. 17th century - jan baptista ban helmont: recipe, open container with soiled underwear + wheat, after 21 days the smell changes and the ferment from the underwear reacts with the wheat transforming it into adult mice. Conclusion: wheat + ferment from soiled underwear create mice.
