In other words, men do masculinity according to the social situation in which they find themselves (1993: 83-4)(cid:863) One major problem with how we construct masculinity is this need for control and dominance over women. What factors can help us understand sexually aggressive behaviour, is what they look at. They did a survey with an equal sample in terms of racialized backgrounds. They found that 32% had exhibited sexually aggressive behaviour in the past. The two factors of childhood sexual abused and hostile masculinity were accurate predictors of men that would engage in sexually aggressive behaviour.
