Talking about fetuses in bioethics, really is talking about abortion. Both sides think their view is obvious and self-evident. But there is no such thing as moral certainty. It is aways wrong to take a human life . Lifeboat ethics: 11 people in a life boat that ts 10. Pro-life arguments tend to be too broad. It is only wrong to take the life of persons or rational agents . Pro-choice arguments tend to be too narrow. What is the moral de nition of murder: to murder is to rob someone of all their future experience. Regardless of what stage the fetus is in, it has a human future, just like yours. Nb: this is not the same thing as saying that because it is wrong to kill a person it is also wrong to kill a potential person: don"t have to worry about the potentiality of the fetus.
