Reserved, shy, quiet, passive (oriented to their inner world) Prefer to reflect before giving opinion: emotional stability emotional instability scale. Normal brain arousal is low thus, seek simulation from the external world (frontal lobe area involved in behavioural inhibition is less active *more outgoing, ready to express opinion*) Emotional stability reactivity of the autonomic nervous system stress response. Emotionally unstable - have stronger emotional reactions to stimuli. Openness willing to try new things. Early and middle adulthood less neurotic, extraverted, and open , more conscientious and agreeable. Might be conscientious with work, but not at school. Thoughts, expectations, past experience, the context influences it. Views behaviour has the interaction between peoples traits(and their thinking) and their social context. In explaining instances of behaviour, takes into account: inborn predisposition, cognitive traits (attitudes, expectation), general thinking patterns.
