Introduction: at what point to we peak physically? i: middle age. Men and women have different physical milestones which represents their peak physical growth which occur at different times. Women peak at menopause, which signals the end of fertility and their ability to reproduce. Men have more a biological clock, where there is a gradual decline in testosterone production resulting in a decline in sexual abilities and a decrease in the quality of sperm. Does not increase risk of depression, cause midlife crisis or cause a decrease in sex drive: old age. This stage is the fastest growing segment in western society. This is because fewer and fewer young couples are opting to start a family and have children. This is also due to the signi cant increase and improvement in healthcare technology. In 1950 the average age was 49, now it is over 75. Women outlive men by 5-7 years (inequality of the sexes)
