Mental illness is a label applied to those whose behaviour is abnormal and problematic, but not criminal. Label is used to control those who are troublesome but not criminal. Label is most likely to be applied to those who do not have the power to avoid the label. Anxiety disorders- obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias, panic disorder, post traumatic (12%) At least one percent of a population is likely to have a serious and persistent mental illness at any given time. This is equal to about 300,000 canadians at any given time. Approximately 1 out of 5 people is likely to be diagnosed with a mental illness at some time during their entire life. In other words, six million canadians will have a mental illness during some period of their lives. There is no hope for the mentally ill, once mentally ill always mentally ill. Mental disorder is most likely to strike in winter months (sad), not true.
