Gramsci did not separate the work from the person, rather he argued that the modes of work creates a certain type of people, different personalities were better suited for certain types of jobs. What types of people/personalities are created through new forms of industrialization. Marx view of human nature and gave his view on capitalism and how humans did not use their abilities to the best of their capabilities, it was a waste working in a factory everyday. Work under capitalism is alienating in 3 ways. 1. alienated from the product of their own labour. 2. alienated from their fellow workers as a class.
