In perfect world, human organism live upwards to 90 years on average. Peak form of human age is 18 - 36 years. After peak age, speed and metabolic rate decline, senses convey less information, and eventually to degeneration of body and death. Meaning we attach to aging and aging process varies from society to society. Suggests that although everyone age, must consider aging as sociological process as much as we consider it physical process. Ex: body doesn"t say "you"re not a toddler anymore" Physiological is a process, starts from conception and ends at death. Social and cultural process makes otherwise continuous process. In our context, state plays huge role in defining role as adult. Adulthood is socially defined, socially determined, nothing in bodies that tell us that that now we have right to vote.
