Particular concepts of self are embedded in politics. It explains humans place in the universe. Not all societies and individuals have a concept of self. Ancient rome: the idea of the person was enshrined in law as the rights of a citizen, lots of names: nicknames, surnames etc. Ancient greece: supplied a moral weight to the concept of a person. Christianity: made the person into a metaphysical entity, the moral person. Western concept of self (combination of rome, greece and christianity) Alternating time: discontinuous or oscillating time that moved, time can be seen as repetition. Brama: ageless, colorless or any physical attributes, it is a merging of all traits, a unitary hole that contains everything in the world.
