Growing old means: promises authority and respect, promises deeper understanding of the spiritual world because one is getting closer to the spiritual world. It means more children of your own: spiritual continuity transcends physical discontinuity. The venda imagines body and soul as transforming themselves: for soul means moving from the spirit world and back to the physical world.
