In a perfect condition, the human body will live until it"s 90s: degeneration and death are the logical consequences of life, all humans eventually age and eventually die, the living life varies from all environment, culture and circumstances. It is the meaning assigned to ageing that makes a difference. Terms & concepts: physiology does not determine the category in which people live, ageing is a continuous process, socio cultural process demarcate different ages or periods in a particular individual. There is a difference between being a minor and an adult. Canadian adulthood: the state determines the line of adulthood in any country. Growing old means: promises authority and respect, promises deeper understanding of the spiritual world because one is getting closer to the spiritual world. It means more children of your own: spiritual continuity transcends physical discontinuity. The venda imagines body and soul as transforming themselves: for soul means moving from the spirit world and back to the physical world.
