Document Summary

Chimp almost as human as we are. Slight difference in timing leads to retardation. Retardation in development of humans has been beneficial, advantageous. More time to allow our brain to grow as the body takes time to mature. If no retardation, like in chimps mature early. Humans first appeared in east africa and south africa (fossils) One thing that was happening in east africa and south africa was the climate changing. Climate changed within a generation and the animals that were different to the original environment had an advantage to the changing weather. It is maladaptive because we can"t run on both our forelimbs and hind limbs. No genetic material change in the skulls of chimp and human. The cranial capacity of the chimp"s brain is half of the humans" brain. It wouldn"t be possible to change human"s skull to chimp"s skull because of cranial.
