Uterus: embryonic and fetal development - supports the embryo. Mammary glands: milk secreted for nourishment of the infant (lactation) Labia majora: skin folds encircling other structures. Labia minora: marks central space of vagina. Prepuce: extension of labia minora encircling clitoris. Suspensory, broad & ovarian ligament: stabilization of structures & blood vessels in female reproductive tract. Infundibulum (most distal section of the uterine tube): funnel expansion ending in fimbriae. Uterine tube: isthmus > ampulla > infundibulum. External os - where sperm travel to enter uterus. Sperm because there have finite number and are larger. Blood vessels: uterine artery (m) > arcuate artery (m) > radial artery (m) > straight artery (e) > spiral artery (e) Degeneration and shedding of endometrial functional layer, leading to menstruation or menses.
