Document Summary

Physical and chemical processes underlie biological processes. Transport of materials across cell membranes is important for maintaining homeostasis and physiological processes such as conduction of nerve impulses, regulation of body fluids and uptake of nutrients, etc. This is a feedback system that is caused by the glucose level drop in the body. Negative feedback - purpose of it is to tell the body to do opposite of what you have to maintain a balance in the regulatory systems and maintain homeostasis. Ex. temperature - when temperature is high, thermostat automatically cools room down - this is negative feedback. Action potentials, childbirth and clot formation are best examples. No physiological range - when started have to be completed. There is an all or none phenomenon - action potential. Reinforcement of adding more and more or completing one process. Childbirth; the more contractions enforce secretion of oxytocin which cause more and bigger contractions.
