In disease state, if lung loses elasticity,, requires greater change in pressure. If the lung has reduced compliance, it takes a higher ptp to achieve the same lung volume: fibrosis reduced compliance. Lung tissue is less elastic so more pressure is needed to generate volume in the lung: factors affecting compliance.
