Roles allows how group members define in the group. Process through which members of the research define their research roles. Some might not agree with your research so you will have to take alternative paths. Your role may change overtime (ie. shadowing independent work) Memory is limited and important research events may be forgotten. Keep track of what happened, how you perceived the event to unfold and finally to reflect. When you"re done spending time in the group/field, take full research notes. What happened? - write down what you experience rather than what you think is. Do it fast! - do this immediately after events happen as your memory can fail you. Write down things even if they seem unimportant. Lexicon - vocabulary of an individual or keywords.
