Humour tropes: parody/satire, slapstick, bad jokes/puns can be bizarre to sublime can fail hard as result depends a lot on audience engagement and reception can go viral in various communities if developed well. Serious/informational can be serious political propaganda or satirical editorials: effective instructionally, can bring attention to issues. Power of words consider mccloud"s word/picture duality a lot of stories told in word-dependent panels with limited visual grammar: words have to be good though, visual representation should resonate and conform with style of comic art. Break the fourth wall sometimes story come from breaking conventions, or adapting convention in a unique way: going meta can be challenging but can work very well.
