Document Summary
Parasitism + herbivory cause coevolutionary race one is trying to eat you but you get away (coevolution = species affect each other"s evolution) Predator + prey interact on ongoing basis and they drive each other"s evolution by forcing each other to adapt by developing better arms (predator) + better defense (prey) Cryptic coloration like a gecko, camouflage, blend in with environment. Mimicry they mimic other animals the predator fears. Warning coloration things that are not toxic will pretend to be by coloring themselves a certain way, shocking/bright color implies poisonous. Herbivory predation on plants, may not kill the plant but affects the growth + survival. But plants have defenses: thorns, chemicals or they can have other animals protect them (the acacia ants) Coevolution when organisms interact, they develop relationships 2 species where if there"s any evolutionary change in 1, it changes the other. Species are evolving fast just to keep up with their predators, preys, etc.
