FSC100H5 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Heat Press, Ninhydrin, Cyanoacrylate
Document Summary
Processes usually occur at a lab rather than a crime scene unless it can"t be transported. Better supportive evidence if you bring the physical piece of evidence with you. Brush has springs that creates the magnetism that allows for the powder to reveal impressions. Powder in combination with oils, moisture reveals the impressions made. Use ngerprint tape to lift ngerprints from object for further investigation. Once lifted must be well documented on who lifted it, on what object and etc. Accuracy depends on the investigator lifting the print and depends on how much oil was on the persons hand when the print was formed. Used in areas where metal is exposed to lots of moisture. Ignite the camphor and the ame will develop ngerprints on the galvanized metal. Finger print secretion is made up of amino acids. Used on porous surfaces eg. paper most common so ngerprint would be inside the paper and not on the surface.
