First officer should record the victims condition or record any statement made by the victim. As soon as officers arrive, they must isolate the area. The responding officers must keep an accurate log of who enters and exits the area including the times of arrival and departure. Once the crime scene is isolated and secured, a lead investigator starts evaluating the area.
