Industrial revolution establish different class of people with new asperations and mentalities: french revolution just gave them laws and freedom. The age of extremes (1914-1991) short 20th century. 20th century is about destruction and failure of system put together in 19th century. Nationalism, nations become murderous, states begin to wage war on each other. Principal of balance of power one european state cannot be strong then another. The idea of power comes from people is lost, and people look towards a strong leader (nazi) Everyone looks towards to one single charismatic leader. Individual people want the cheapest labour, etc. (imperialism) Russian creates communist countries, in communist countries there was no great depression.
