Document Summary

His death was anticipated because of his failing health. Japan becoming a major super power, but do they remember what happened in. In the months leading up to the emperor"s death, his health was all people could talk about. There was no room to speak about his contributions in life and what he sanctioned. No way to scrutinize how he was a part of the war. Japan is still post-war japan, post-war germany ended long ago. The japanese emperor oversaw two periods in japanese history, but only the post-war showa period is remembered. However, after his death, it was an awakening that they needed to talk about these things. The occupation in japan also helped to not talk about the involvement in wwii. People in japan have never really even heard about events in wwii. The notion of being absolutely loyal to the emperor was gone in the new-age japan.
