Lecture 6  British Saints (i.e. St. George was Britain’s, St. Andrew's was Scotland's etc.) o Naming land was traditional  Land expansion in 1880s  Sewer system in city of Toronto o There were sewers and worked: few blocks would have pipes under em and they would collect sewage and then go right down to the lake o Most residential buildings weren't connected to these sewers so had out houses  Numerous regulatory laws and agencies that are still with us from 19th century -> children's aid society, liquor control etc  See public health  Moral reform, government reform, public ownership  1908 build interceptor sewer (sometimes called trunk sewer) and agreed for this plan to have filter in it for sewage system and was done by 1930  1911 coronate city's …  1900s prob and hired inspectors to go into people's houses and take pics etc and 1911 report released on health conditions (?)  Had education cam
