Not open to students enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of the. This course is designed to introduce you to the role of management and the principal functions of business. It will develop your understanding of what organizations do, and how they are managed across a broad range of functions. The course also provides an introduction to the analytical tools for understanding various types and sizes of organizations and their management, and utilizes case studies and real world illustrations of these activities. Mgm 101 is the first of two courses together with mgm 102, (which is offered in the following semester commencing in january 2012) designed to provide an introduction to the academic discipline of management. It is a prerequisite course for entry to the management and commerce.
