Document Summary

I do think there is such a thing as reality. Subjective: this is our perceptions of reality, but these subjective realities may not be objective realities. At times, partisanship is a component of subjectivity, for example. We have a whole bunch of personal lters that make our personal reality. Constructed: media depictions of something going on. Any media account is constructed by someone somewhere. Everyone is in these worlds of reality. In 1938, orson wells was a young director for the mercury theatre. He wanted to do a rendition of the war of the worlds on the radio, telling the story through a fake news broadcast pretending it was really happening. It appeared, some people thought it was real. Great depression, the rise of nazism, etc. and they all used propaganda to have people on their side. This made many people question how easy others are in uenced by the media.
