- The Spanish imperfect tense is equivalent to three English forms

I lived in Caracas
- The imperfect is used to refer to habitual or repeated actions, with no
reference to when they began or ended
Uds. tenían una casa en Caracas? Did you have a house in Caracas?
No, vivíamos en un apartamento No, we lived in an apartment
- It is also used to refer to actions, events, or conditions that the speaker views
as in the process of happening
Veníamos para casa cuando vimos a Raúl We were coming home
when we saw Raúl
B) Irregular forms
Only three verbs are irregular in the imperfect tense: ser, ver, and ir
