To look into the similitude of passions, ,not the similitude of their objects. No rational objects of desire only the rational pursuit of our passion. What i want is good for me. Outside the commonwealth the rule is taken from each person. All human actions intend to promote the guarantee if satisfaction of all present and future desires; human beings differ only in what they desire and what they believe. Therefore they want a restless desire of power. The present means to obtain some future apparent good. The value, or worth of a man is his price. A restless desire of power over power. Competition of riches, honour, common or other power, inclineth to contention enemy. No absolute goods in the state of nature. All men are equal both in faculties of mind and body. Equality of hopes attaining the end, and therefore enmities. All fruits of labor are in jeopardy- dif dence.
