Eg: humans and horses have different set of characteristics: he thought that the natural classes were defined by these characteristics. Eg: just as a triangle is defined by a shape with three sides so is a horse. But because a triangle is defined this way, triangularity never changes but the triangle can. Eg: in summer your skin gets darker but your actual skin never changes. We are making a distinction between properties and individual things. Evolution basically said that these essential and accidental properties can change. In logic, an individual is just the subject of (singular) predication: bruno is hairy (bruno belongs to a hairy class and therefore bruno is the individual)
