Document Summary
I can doubt that bodies exist, but i cannot doubt that i exist + am a thinking thing. I have a cdp of my self as a thinking thing. I do not cdp that anything besides thinking belong to me. I cdp that nothing but thinking belongs to me. I see im just a thinking thing, not an extended thing: this is stronger than the one above. The mind and the body are two different things according to descartes. The mind is a immaterial thing: the mind is the soul. Since it is not the body, when we die, our soul can continue in the afterlife. People who believe in afterlife believe that the soul can survive the death of the body. Although the mind and body are two different things, they are still connected and interact. So, i am really distinct from body: 2 things, 2 substances.
