Freud particularly focused on sexual and aggressive drives; infants have it too. inspired by darwin. We develop strategies (ego-defensive mechanisms) to avoid anxiety. Dreams are caused by pressure build up in unconsciousness. Steam engine after pressure build-up it releases steam. If too much is repressed, dreams are created from the pressure. Psycho-somatic illness physical illness caused mentally by too much anxiety. Woman walks into freud"s office lost her ability to speak.
