Document Summary
Synthesia is a condition where certain perceptual or cognitive activities trigger exceptional experiences (hearing the word train triggers you to see the colour red). Sensation: stimulation of sense organs (involves the absorption of energy i. e. light, soundwaves. Perception: organization, interpretation, and selection of sensory input. Translating sensory input into something meaningful i. e. recognizing your friends face. Looking for a stimulus (any detectable input from the environment) and finding weakest stimulus. A threshold is a dividing point between energy levels that do and do not have a detectable effect. Absolute threshold is the minimum amount of stimulation that an organism can detect.
