Condiioning - involves learning associaions between events that occur in an organism"s environment. Classical condiioning/pavlovian condiioning - a type of learning in which a simulus acquires the capacity to evoke a response that was originally evoked by another simulus. Was pioneered by ivan pavlov who condiioned dogs to salivate when a tone was presented. Regulates involuntary, relexive responses (include emoional and physiological responses) Psychic relexes (came to be called condiioned relex) dog salivates when presented with meat powder. - dog would also salivate in response to a tone (a neutral simulus) but when the tone was presented together with the meat powder, dog salivated even only with the tone presented. Pavlovian condiioning evolve because it increases reproducive itness .
