Implicit associaion: how strongly two things are connected unconsciously. Posiive and negaive thing: forming minority group. In today"s lab, the raio of posiive and negaive events are the same b/w the 2 groups (one of the groups is the minoruty) Illusory correlaion: perceiving a relaionship when no relaionship actually exists. Because we paid more atenion to their statements and more negaive acts have more impact. Atenion grabbing event + negaive event = build prejudice. Or 2 negaive events = build prejudice. How do you use reacion ime to determine the strength of the unconscious bias: answered above. Trials: male/female, career/family, consistent condiion: female/family or male/career consistent with stereotype. If there is a big diference = strong associaion.
