Two experiment tasks are examples to help you design your own experiment which you will run and write up as a lab report with a partner due after reading week. Start now and come up with 5 or more ideas for ivs by the end of january to be ready for lab 8 in february. You will need to have two ivs (in a 2x2 design = 4 conditions) and run at least 8 people. It cannot be approved by email or outside of lab times. Recall (two lists of 20 words seen for 6 seconds each) Iv = type of rehearsal (repetition vs. elaboration) Dv = free recall percent correct (not looking at serial order effects today) Cv = all common words, 6 seconds of study time, 30 seconds of delay before recall. Hypothesis percent correct for visualization rehearsal should be much higher than for repetition rehearsal.
